Please join us in our annual Chinese speaking competition, sponsored by the Confucius Institute of the University of Kansas. Yearly, we partner with area organizations to offer learners and heritage speakers of Chinese an opportunity to showcase their skills. Our competition welcomes all levels of Chinese language learners and heritage speakers (in separate competition categories), and will feature Certificates and Prizes for participants!

 

Eligibility:

Students currently enrolled in a Chinese program in any K12 school, university, or Chinese weekend school (or homeschool Chinese program), and adult learners are eligible. All contestants must be recommended by their respective Chinese language teacher (can be parent/homeschool teacher).

 

Please email the form below (can be in the body of an email) as instructed. Contestants should then submit a video entry by uploading it onto YouTube using the “Unlisted” privacy setting, then email the link to your video to ciku@ku.edu.

By emailing the link to my “Unlisted” YouTube video, I hereby give permission for Kansas City Chinese Speech Contest judges to view and judge my speech competition entry.

 

The top contestants in each division will be invited to compete in the finals at Johnson County Community College on January 28, 2017. Prizes and Certificates will be awarded!

Technical Requirements:

Please record your video in MPEG-4. Do not add background music or other sound effects; Do Not Use: PowerPoint, props, or other visual aids; Outdoor or indoor backgrounds are acceptable. A quiet environment, with as little ambient noise as possible, is recommended. Video camera angle must show the speaker’s head and shoulders (or from the waist up).

 

All speeches should be memorized and delivered in Mandarin Chinese without notes, printed materials, or PowerPoint. The contestant …

随着下个月进入的总统选举, 也为了给我们堪城中美社区提供一个了解选举以及投票的具体操作, 本讲座将讨论我们为什么要投票, 选民所要决定的选票问题, 在选举前如何有效的了解候选人的方法, 以及其他有关选举和投票具体信息.

民主是政府的一个系统, 而且只有当所有公民都参与到塑造政府现在和未来发展方向的情况下才能更繁荣. 参与国家,州,和社区选举是所有公民的重要责任. 创立于近一百年前, 让民主行驶它的职能是妇女选民联盟唯一的使命.

KCCAA Passport/Visa Event Reminder and Educational Seminars

 

This is a courtesy reminder that the 2016 KCCAA Passport/Visa event will be held on Saturday October 29 at 10101 England Drive, Overland Park, KS 66212. Please visit www.kccaa.org for detailed information.

Seminar two, Your Vote Matters, to be presented by Candy Birch, current president of League of Women Voters (LWV) Johnson County, and assistant principal and activities director at Olathe South High School.

申请人不需要回邮信封, 签证办完后, 领事馆会把护照及签证交由堪城中美联合会统一发放.

To better serve oversea Chinese, the Chinese Consulate General in Chicago will come to the State of Kansas on Saturday October 29, 2016 to process the application for Chinese Passport, Travel Document, and other documents.

The application will be processed in sequence based on the allocated time slot. Walk-Ins are also welcome based on availability.

2. Document and Fees*:

*The applicnts will need to pay Money Order or Cashier’s Check directly to “Chinese Consulate in Chicago” for the required passport and/or travel document fee.

3. Service Fee:

Passport and Travel Document: $40 for member and non-member, cash or personal check.

4. Chinese Visa:

For the convenience of the community, KCCAA will accept the application to Chinese Visa. Please refer the information listed in the Consulate General’s website:

In addition to the visa fee required by the Consulate General, service fee of $40 for member and $50 for non-member will be collected by KCCAA.

Please combine the service fee (by KCCAA) and the required visa fee (by Consulate General) together and make payment to KCCAA, cash or personal checks are accepted. KCCAA will issue the payment required for visa to Consulate General in Chicago.

No need for return envelope, and the passport/visa will be distributed to you by KCCAA after the visa was issued by Consulate General in Chicago.

8月7日MAACA与KCCAA联合举办高尔夫球大赛

美国中部亚洲文化协会（MAACA）和堪城中美联合会（KCCAA）将于8月7日联合举办第一届高尔夫球大赛。

比赛将以4人为一组的小组赛进行，每位参赛者都有机会为自己的团队贡献自己最好的一杆。欢迎大家自行组队参加。
